Birmingham City Church
BCC is a vibrant, contemporary and multicultural pentecostal Elim church at the heart of Birmingham; and our mission is 'Transformed Lives, Transforming Lives'. Our Sunday morning services at 9am and 11.15am are our largest gatherings with approximately 850 in attendance over the two meetings. We enjoy lively and meaningful sung worship and a thoughtful talk based on the Bible and the way that it applies to modern life. We often include creative pieces to further connect and communicate with all who attend. Refreshments are available after both services in our Life Cafe. During term time after the second service our 20s and students meet on campus at BeOne for food, socialising, and lively discussion. All welcome!
Edgbaston Old Church (St Bartholomew’s)
We are an Anglican Church with a new and growing Bible teaching ministry. The morning congregation is mostly older, but committed to reaching out to a new generation. The PCC has agreed to starting a number of new initiatives this year with this aim. One of these St Bart’s at 6 is aimed in particular at being relevant to students!
Gas street (St Luke's)
In 2015, Tim & Rachel Hughes relocated from HTB London to launch a new church into the city centre of Birmingham. The first phase of a building renovation on a warehouse on Gas Street was completed and launched on 5th February 2016. Our prayer is that every student encounters the presence of God, connects with other people and understands the purpose God has for them to be light for the city.
Kings Church Birmingham
King’s Church Birmingham began last autumn. After an exciting year, we have been so encouraged and blessed by what God has done and the people we have met and seen saved. We believe we have been called by God to play a part in reaching the city and universities of Birmingham and seeing people come to know Jesus. We are still at the very beginnings of what we believe we have been called for, so if you feel called to join us then we would love to meet you!
We have a heart for creating a community that is genuine family, a place where you can be discipled, challenged and supported as you are sent out to the university mission field. If you’re looking for a place where you can easily get involved and can really give yourself then we would love to meet you.
Grace Church Dell Road
Grace Church Dell Road was started as a new church on Easter Day 2007 from City Church Birmingham.
As a church, there are certain things we want to be known for being. If you met us then we hope you’d say these things are true, even though we’re not perfect at them.
We strive to be…
St Stephen's & St Wulstan's
The church family at St Stephen's and St Wulstan's is a mix of people from different backgrounds and different stages of life. We're really just a bunch of ordinary people who know someone extraordinary - The Lord Jesus! Our desire is to be deeply rooted in Jesus, to grow to know Him better and show His fruit in our lives.
St John's Harborne

We offer free student transport every Sunday, student lunches each month, a family from the church that will look out for you and invite you round for meals etc.(if you want that), opportunities to serve and get involved (again if you want to) and pastors who are available to meet for coffee, chats and prayer. That's just a part of what we offer students as for the rest of the church well come along one Sunday and see for yourself.
Redeemer Church Birmingham
We are a church plant still in our early days. Our desire is to increasingly, love deeply and share widely the goodness of God. We are seeking to be a Christ centred community for the joy of our local area and beyond! We are based in the south of Birmingham, four stops from University station. If you are up for an adventure and somewhere you could both be blessed and be a real blessing during your time in this great city then please come along and check us out.
As a community, Oasis is a group of people seeking to live enjoying and revealing the love we've been shown. Everything we are and everything we do as church can be traced back to two core values: Loving God and Loving People.
Like an oasis, we know that church at University for some is a place to stop during a journey, to find refreshment and be resourced for next part; whilst for others, it's a place to put down roots and help to extend the reach and impact of the refreshment we offer. Wherever you're at, we'd love to meet you, so why not come along and see if Oasis is somewhere you can feel at home, know others, and be known.
Monyhull is a lively and growing independent evangelical church in the south of Birmingham. We have a conservative but contemporary approach and place a strong emphasis on systematic Bible teaching. Our aim is to provide a warm and welcoming spiritual home to those who would like to share their university years with us.
Hope City Birmingham
Hope City Church is a large, vision lead, family church with 9 congregations all over England and 3 others around the world. This cutting-edge, exciting church was started in Birmingham in October 2009, meeting right in the heart of the city.
We meet every Sunday at 5pm at the Novotel Hotel on Broad Street with Dinner Parties happening every week straight after in various restaurants around the city. We are a fun, faith-filled community all about Jesus and people. The journey ahead is exciting as we forge great friendships and win back the city of Birmingham to Christ.
Elim Church Selly Oak
Elim Church Selly Oak is a vibrant church in the heart of Selly Oak. Our mission is to "disciple our city" by turning not-yet-followers of Christ into fully committed followers of him.
We welcome students to get involved in the life of the church; from small groups to serving at youth, welcome team to worship team. These are just a few examples of the areas you can get stuck into during your time with us. Through it our aim is that you grow in Christlikeness.
We want City Church to be a place where students can feel at home and grow in their faith in Jesus while at university. Students from all the Birmingham universities are part of our church family and come both morning and evening. Sunday evening is our main service for students. Our student cell group, called StudentPlus, happens after the 6pm evening service. It is where we meet and pray together, hear testimonies and most of all to listen to God speak to us as we read the Bible.
Churchcentral has a vision to be a church that will make a difference in the heart of the nation. We aim to do this by focusing on four particular priorities; Loving God, Loving one another, Loving those who don't know Jesus, and Going to the nations.
We love students at Churchcentral and we see you as a key part of the mission God has given us. There are lots of ways to get involved, build relationships and be trained over your time at university.
We have Student Life Groups meeting through-out the week that are a great place to meet other students, get to know people, build friendships, grow in your faith and be trained.
Christ Church Selly Park
We are a welcoming, Christian community of all ages from Selly Park and South Birmingham. We are committed to enabling growth in relationship with God and each other within the ethos of an open evangelical, charismatic Anglican Church our modern church building has been designed to be multi-purpose, so that we can use our facilities during the week to serve our local community. Our worship services are informal and relaxed and we incorporate a variety of styles of music.
Our Nexus group for students and young adults aims to link up students, including internationals, and other young adults, through monthly social activities and the opportunity to be part of a home group.
We believe church should be fun and down to earth - the kind of place where anyone can feel at home. We love to hang out together, worship God together and serve our communities together. We think that following Jesus is all about making a difference in an otherwise crazy world and showing genuine love to those around us. As a church, God has given us a heart for our communities and a heart for mission, therefore we exist in missional community groups across the city to build one another up and bring wholeness to broken lives through the power of the Gospel. We gather centrally on most Sundays to celebrate what God is doing across the city.
Birmingham Chinese Evangelical
The Birmingham Chinese Evangelical Church is found in Birmingham City Centre, near the Mailbox. We're a church that has three different languages and cultural groups that meet in three different services on Sunday.
We don't claim to be one of the big student churches but Bearwood Chapel provides a great opportunity to get involved with a local church committed to proclaiming the Gospel in an ethnically diverse, socially needy area. You will receive a warm welcome and be well looked after - there's always plenty of food around. But more importantly we want to give you the opportunity to learn more about your own gifts and role in the church. So there will be plenty of opportunities to serve whether that's joining the music group, helping with children or joining various outreach activities.
